The reception decor was as fabulous as the ceremony’s one, with pinwheels and colorful flowers in mason jars, glass bottles and baskets.
The escort cards were little pinwheels: our floral designer Sofia displayed them in vintage drawers filled with moss, they were lovely!
The centerpieces were composed by three painted mason jars filled with flowers. I made the table numbers and all the stationery, invitations, menu, signs and fan programs, with a little help from my husband, my favorite graphic designer.
The photo booth was a big polaroid frame, handmade by the groom.
Our guestbook was a time capsule: our guests wrote their wishes on colorful cards we will read on our first anniversary.
We brought the oversized letters we made for our engagement shoot, of course!
I chose 50’s and 60’s music for the reception, it was a diy project that made me feel a little nervous, but everybody loved it.
These photos taken at sunset are my favorite of the whole day. Sofia brought these balloons in our wedding colors and our photographers Leti e Viola loved them even more than we did!
My sister made heart shaped soap favors and I prepared little jars filed with Jordan almonds.
We danced our first dance to These Arms Of Mine by Otis Redding and then another one to Love Is All Around by The Troggs.
The night was magical, I don’t remember ever being so happy.
I remember my husband smoking a cigar sitting in a garden armchair, I remember blowing soap bubbles and dancing barefoot on the grass.
There are several things i would do differently, but that day was wonderful and perfect with its imperfections.
We were us, Elena and Gabriele. We couldn’t ask for more.
